Eden Dock in Canary Wharf opened in May 2025 as a £12m floating ecosystem and public park

  • Date : May 2025

Eden Dock (formerly Middle Dock) in Canary Wharf is a 325-metre-long, Grade I-listed dock transformed into a £12m floating ecosystem and public park, opened in May 2025. It features interconnected pontoons, lush aquatic islands, and vibrant landscaping, offering a tranquil, nature-focused space for visitors and residents, with open-water swimming available through Love Open Water.

Key Features of Eden Dock (Middle Dock):

  • Location: Situated at the heart of Canary Wharf, directly opposite the eastern entrance to the Jubilee Line.
  • Transformation: Formerly a “hard-edged” dock, the space now includes floating habitats for wildlife and seating areas that bring visitors close to the water’s edge.
  • Open-Water Swimming: Middle Dock is renowned for clean, spring-fed water and offers urban swimming sessions in collaboration with NOWCA. Swimmers must have a NOWCA membership.
  • Access: Open daily from sunrise to sunset, providing a calm, green oasis surrounded by skyscrapers, with connections via Jubilee Plaza and Mackenzie Walk.

The project aims to improve mental and physical wellbeing by offering a relaxing environment with landscaped areas for walking, yoga, and leisure.
